Safety information: Not intended for human or veterinary use. Use appropriate laboratory safety procedures when handling.
TB-500 10mg should only be used in laboratory settings by qualified personnel.
Ensure all experimental procedures comply with local and institutional regulations.
This peptide is supplied for research and scientific study purposes only.
Janoshik test #125456 was run on one vial labelled TB-500 10mg. The report lists the result as “TB-500 (TB4)” and the request as “TB4/TB-500/TB4(17-23) analysis”, with a measured content of 12.09 mg against the 10mg stated on the label and a purity of 99.944%. View the report on janoshik.com.
The report covers one vial and does not state the analytical method or which peptide sequence was quantified. Purity and measured content are different results.
TB-500 10mg
TB-500 is the name used in the research literature for a synthetic N-acetylated peptide fragment of thymosin β4 (Tβ4): the seven-amino-acid sequence Ac-LKKTETQ, corresponding to residues 17–23 of the 43-amino-acid Tβ4 protein. Ascend Peptides UK supplies TB-500 10mg as a lyophilised powder in a single sealed vial, for in-vitro laboratory research only.
These are reference values for the TB-500 molecule (PubChem; Cayman Chemical item 45081, supplied there as the acetate salt). They describe the compound, not test results for a particular vial. A salt form such as the acetate has a higher formula weight than the free peptide. Confirmation of the exact form supplied in Ascend vials is being obtained from the manufacturer.
Full-length thymosin β4 is a 43-amino-acid protein (UniProt P62328; about 4.96 kDa) that binds monomeric G-actin and regulates actin polymerisation. TB-500 is a seven-residue fragment taken from the actin-binding region of that protein. Much of the published cell-migration and actin research was carried out with full-length Tβ4, and those findings do not automatically apply to the fragment. The evidence base for the fragment on its own is smaller and largely preclinical. A fuller explanation is in What Is TB-500?, and laboratory background is in the TB-500 10mg laboratory guide.
Independent analytical reports for TB-500 10mg are published on the CoA page and in the Certificate of Analysis section of this page. Each report applies to the vial and batch it names, so when stock changes the testing record is updated rather than this description. Purity and measured content are different results, and a report only confirms the analyses it lists.
Storage requirements for this product are being confirmed with the manufacturer. Please contact ASCEND for the information held for the current stock.
Thymosin β4 and its derivatives, including TB-500, are listed under section S2 of the WADA Prohibited List, which is revised annually.
