⚠ Important – Acetic Acid Water (AA Water) Handling Notice
Previous product handling guidance identified Acetic Acid Water (AA Water) for this material. The manufacturer-specific solvent requirement is awaiting verification.
Do not assume that bacteriostatic water is interchangeable. Follow a validated laboratory protocol.

AOD-9604 5mg Research Peptide UK
AOD-9604 5mg is a synthetic 16-amino-acid peptide (published formula C78H123N23O23S2, approximately 1,815.1 g/mol; PubChem CID 71300630). These are reference properties, not analytical results for the supplied vial.
The defining research property of AOD-9604 is its IGF-1 independence. Unlike full-length hGH, AOD-9604 is not reported to act through the growth hormone receptor (GHR), and in placebo-controlled human trials it did not change serum IGF-1 (Stier et al., 2013). This removes GH-receptor-driven IGF-1 elevation as a variable in metabolic study designs, which matters when lipolytic activity is studied separately from the anabolic, mitogenic and glucose-modulating effects associated with full-length hGH.
AOD-9604 has been studied in preclinical lipid-metabolism models. Heffernan et al. (Endocrinology, 2001) reported increased beta-3 adrenergic receptor mRNA in treated obese mice, but concluded that its lipolytic actions are not mediated directly through the beta-3 adrenergic receptor; the precise mechanism has not been established. Reduced lipogenesis (new triglyceride formation) has been reported for AOD9401, a closely related fragment without the added tyrosine (Heffernan et al., 2000), but was not shown in the AOD-9604 sources reviewed.
Evidence status: published AOD-9604 data come mainly from obese rodent models (Ng et al., 2000; Heffernan et al., 2001) and one rabbit osteoarthritis study (Ann Clin Lab Sci, 2015). Six placebo-controlled human trials were run during its development as an anti-obesity drug. The peer-reviewed summary (Stier et al., 2013) reports safety, no change in serum IGF-1 and no adverse effect on glucose tolerance, but not weight-loss efficacy, and AOD-9604 was not approved as a medicine. No Certificate of Analysis is currently published for AOD-9604 5mg or 10mg, so the purity and identity of current stock are not documented by Ascend; the Certificates of Analysis page lists the records that are published.
The 5mg format suits pilot investigations, method validation and smaller study designs. For established programmes requiring full dose-response concentration gradients across multiple arms, AOD-9604 10mg provides the advanced format. For complementary metabolic pathway research through the IGF-1 receptor axis, see IGF-1 LR3 1mg.
Published mechanism research, including the beta-3 AR findings, and research design guidance are available in the AOD-9604 5mg research guide on the Ascend Peptides UK blog.
Ascend Peptides UK does not publish reconstitution or handling instructions for AOD-9604; preparation is a decision for your own validated laboratory protocol. Laboratory solvents, including Acetic Acid 10ml, are listed separately.
It corresponds to residues 177 to 191 of human growth hormone with an added N-terminal tyrosine, and is described in the literature as Tyr-hGH(177-191). Its sequence is YLRIVQCRSVEGSCGF, with a disulphide bond between the two cysteines (Cys-7 and Cys-14).
